Its quite unbelievable, this life.

Right now, as im writing this, im listening to 'I love the night' by Blue Oyster Cult. Its a must listen. And as i have gotten the whole world hooked to this song, you will too. Yes, BOC aint paid me a buck, but they have given me the great gift of pleasure. Im eternally greatful. Cheers!

Valentines day. What does it remind you of?

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentions Valentines Day?

A day for the lovers? A big media gimmick? That disgusting day when prices of roses shoot up by 800%? Well, maybe all may be true. Maybe you might want to add more to the above list.

Its quite interesting how people observe this day(forgive my very very journalistic use of 'observe'!). Some people go all out and indulge. Some people complain and cringe when they see starry eyed lovers infesting the town.
And some people protest.

Check this out : Newsreport 1, Newsreport 2, Newsreport 3, Newsreport 4, Newreport 5.

Before we jump into a full fledged tirade against the perpetrators of these protests, it has to be made very clear that there is nothing wrong with life. Nothing at all.

So what kind of people are these who protest. These fundamentalists? The moral police? Why are they doing what they are doing? What are they trying to accomplish?

Ok, sure Valentines day is a bloody bloofy overhyped damn day. And its too soppy and irritating for my liking!
It is a field day for companies selling cards, roses whateverthehell.

But wait a minute. Why are these guys protesting? How the hell is a guy and girl holding hands on the 14th of feb an outrage to our indian culture? How are we going against our religions and cultures by marking a day to declare love? Bloofy nonsense, i tell ya.

Ok. I have my 2paise ready. Ok my dear moralistic sena-types...instead of freakin irritating us on 14th feb, why dont you mark a special culture day or choose a festival and go gung ho on it and use your protesting energies to celebrate and glorify the culture that you are talking about?
